Data not displayed correctly with the XYtoMap Feature

Last Updated: Jun 30, 2015 12:56PM UTC

Concerned environment

  • Galigeo for BI (SAP BI4 WeBI or IBM Cognos)
  • SellWhere Enterprise
  • XYtoMap feature

Description

XYtoMap is a Galigeo for BI and SellWhere Enterprise feature allowing you to use X/Y available in your BI data directly, without having to store them in a geographical file or database. By default, the X/Y are expected to be longitude and latitude degrees coordinates in Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (WGS84) projection. If your data are not displayed where they should be on the map, it means you have X/Y in a different projection.

Steps to reproduce

  • Create a report or a query with X/Y coordinate
  • Map the query with the XYtoMap features
  • Create a thematic based on any field of that query
  • Values are either not displayed, or displayed in an expected place (For example: Data on France displayed in Africa)

Solution

The XYtoMap feature can be setup to use a different projection system. To setup which projection to use:

  • Go to the Galigeo server
  • Edit the file <GALIGEO_HOME>\config\defaultSR.json
  • Specify the EPSG code in this file. For example:
{
wkid:"4647"
}
  • Eventually if the EPSG does not exists, the well known text is also supported:
{
wkt:"PROJCS["RGF93/Lambert-
93",GEOGCS["RGF93",DATUM["D_RGF_1993",SPHEROID["GRS_1980",6378137,298.2572
22101]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],UNIT["Degree",0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION[
"Lambert_Conformal_Conic"],PARAMETER["standard_parallel_1",49],PARAMETER["standa
rd_parallel_2",44],PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",46.5],PARAMETER["central_meridian",
3],PARAMETER["false_easting",700000],PARAMETER["false_northing",6600000],UNIT["Me
ter",1]]"
}
  • Restart Tomcat
